Career and work

Miller trained in neurosurgery before moving into occupational health medicine. In 1996, she co-founded the Doctors’ Support Network with GP Soames Michelson. The organization developed as a peer-support network for doctors and medical students experiencing mental-health difficulties. [2][3]

She later developed Mood Mapping, a system for tracking mood using levels of energy and positivity, and wrote Mood Mapping: Plot Your Way to Emotional Health and Happiness. In 2008, she was voted Mind Mental Health Champion of the Year. Miller has also published research on doctors’ mental health and their ability to return to work, including a 2009 paper in Occupational Medicine. [2][4][5][1]
