Career and work
Packer became chief executive of Publishing and Broadcasting Limited (PBL) in 1996 and executive chairman in 1998. PBL held substantial media and gaming interests, and its 2007 restructuring separated its businesses into Crown Limited and Consolidated Media Holdings. [5][4]
Packer served as executive chairman of Crown until 2015. During his leadership, Crown operated major casino and resort businesses in Melbourne and Perth and pursued international gaming investments, including through Melco Crown Entertainment in Macau. [5][6]
