Yo Yo Honey Singh is an Indian singer, rapper and producer who became a major figure in Punjabi and Hindi popular music, first as a producer and independent artist and later through widely heard Bollywood songs and albums including International Villager. [2][3]
Career and work
Singh began his career primarily as a producer, working in the UK and later in Punjab before becoming known as a performer himself. He has said that his original goal was not to become a rapper or mainstream artist, but to produce music. His early work included tracks such as “Khadke Glassi,” and he later built a following through Punjabi songs including “Chaska” and “Lak 28 Kudi Da.” [3]
His 2011 album International Villager became a major breakthrough, with songs including “Brown Rang” and “Angreji Beat”; the latter was later used in the Bollywood film Cocktail. Singh subsequently became a prominent figure in Hindi film music, contributing songs to numerous Bollywood productions while continuing to release music independently. [3]
